Ashwa joined SIGS on August 2021 as a Serial Producer.

After completing Masters in Photography in United Kingdom she worked for numerous media outlets and agencies as a freelance photojournalist and a videographer in Maldives.

Before joining SIGS she did consultancy work with WHO, UNDP, Reuters and The Wall Street Journal.

In 2017 she travelled to 6 countries with Peace Boat cruise ship to showcase a photographic series produced to outline the affects of climate change in Maldives.
